My Story

My relationship with ceramics is one I continue to navigate as a multidisciplinary artist. While my practice is currently based in Geneva, Switzerland, my journey in ceramics began under the mentorship of Paul Chaleff while I was pursuing my first degree in music. Over time, I formed lasting connections within the ceramic artist community of the greater Hudson Valley, from whom I continue to learn, as well as from artists in Switzerland, France, and Germany. The exposure to both music and ceramics at a high level created a rich path of discovery and fostered a vital, symbiotic relationship between the two. In this dynamic exchange, each discipline informs and shapes the other. To me, these worlds converge through form: the physical presence of my ceramic work influences how I perceive musical structure, while music guides my exploration of form in clay.

I am drawn to the challenge of capturing this fluid interaction within the seemingly static medium of ceramics. My work is also deeply inspired by the traditions of Japanese Iga and Shigaraki ware, alongside elements of contemporary Western styles. Their organic textures and raw forms embody a dialogue between the natural world and my search for harmony between its order and my place within it.

Ultimately, form is where I strive to better understand my relationship to the forces that guide my life and practice, while also breathing vitality into my work.

Vision

My journey is deeply rooted in exploring how I perceive and respond to the world around me. I strive to translate intricate emotions and lived experiences into tangible forms, with each piece serving as a reflection of my thoughts and an attempt to capture the delicate balance between nature and human expression. I am continually inspired to push the boundaries of my craft, seeking new ways to articulate my vision through the medium of clay.
